Two important books from the early 1900s come back to Villa Montesca Foundation as a gift of Rosamund Bance

Rosamund Bance, niece of Mary Douglas Hamilton Ingoldby, has decided to donate to the Villa Montesca Foundation two books of drawings, executed entirely by hand, and realized by the students during the presence of her grandmother in the rural school of Villa Montesca in the years 1906-1910. The two volumes, about 45 by 30 cm, contain drawings and photos that Mrs. Hamilton kept as a memory of the good time spent in the rural school of Villa Montesca. Mary, that was also called “Tonia” by Alice, was one of Alice and Leopoldo’s favorite friends and collaborator and she was an important protagonist of the schools activities of Montesca and Rovigliano together with the Franchetti’s family.
