Veronica Piacentini, architect and cultural heritage protection expert at the Italian Civil Protection Department, as well as member of the PROMEDHE project management team, participated in the International Cultural Heritage Restoration and Protection Fair of Israel, which took place last 13-15 September in Tel Aviv. The fair, organized by The Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites in Israel, hosted around 1000 firms and experts involved in the field of conservation. The theme chosen for 2017 was “Risk Management in Culture Heritage Sites”. Piacentini had the chance to illustrate the interventions undertaken during the last Central-Italy emergency to safeguard and secure cultural assets and buildings damaged by the earthquakes.
The event also provided the occasion for the Israeli PROMEDHE focal points to present the project to an audience of international experts, raising their awareness about the importance of protecting cultural heritage in case of natural disasters.
